Teachers’ Acrostic poem

Definition : An acrostic poem is a poem where certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase.

Typically, the first letters of each line are used to spell the message, but they can appear anywhere.

After our last online meeting via etwinning, Corinne Hoffert had the idea to create this smart acrostic about the terrible pandemic that is ravaging our world.
We share it so that all of you can read it.

Here it is:

Gardening...Such a pleasure during the lockdown!

This is my garden in Bajamar. Well, to be honest, this is my husband’s garden in Bajamar. I have the pleasure to enjoy it and sometimes, not often, I must be sincere, to water it, to sweep the dried leaves, to cut the weeds though mostly what I do is just to see and enjoy the wonderful colours and smell of the flowers, bushes and pots he has been looking after during all this time. Gardening is a therapy. We are lucky having this space at home but it would not be the same without John’s caring and attention. The lockdown has offered him more time to do what he really enjoys…showing us what we have always known: he has green fingers.

Our favourite picture from Nort Macedonia - French team

These are our favourite pictures from our mobility to Macedonia . The first in an open window on to a blue sky , which represents the spirit of our project FUSION , which is an open window on to others. The second is the French team in Ohrid , which we were so lucky to visit with an ideal weather and ideal conditions because everything was quiet and not overcrowded as it must be during the summer. It also reminds us that we left from France as simple colleagues and came back as friends!

Macedonian food...A bond of friendship!

The second mobility of the Erasmus+ Fusion Project to North Macedonia surprised us with a lovely and delicious lunch on our first day at school. Everything we could wish was on the table: vegetables, meat, sweets….An incredible FUSION of flavours! We thank to all the cooks who prepared all these tasty dishes. We also know Ljdija’s mum helped to this successful lunch! Great menu!

The music of FUSION

Hi to all who live under the same blue sky !
In our second mobility in North Macedonia, coming from several different countries and gathering around the same table in unity pleased us once again.
Holding hands and dancing altogether represents us- loving and caring each other when we are given the chance to get to know one another closely. North Macedonia call it "oro" , we call it "halay"
Being able to listen to similar music to ours also made us feel at home! For the video you can click this link and this one.
Thank you North Macedonia!

Aynı mavi gökyüzünün altında yaşayan herkese selam!
Kuzey Makedonya'daki ikinci toplantımızda , farklı ülkelerden gelen meslektaşlarımızla aynı masa etrafında toplanıp yemek yemek bizi bir kez daha mutlu etti.
Kuzey Makedonya'nın "oro" dediği, bizim "halay" dediğimiz dansı hep birlikte etmek aslında birbirimizi yakından tanıma fırsatı verildiğinde birbirimizi seven ve önemseyen bizleri temsil ediyor. Videoları görmek için bu bağlantıları tıklayabilirsiniz: click this link and this one.
Bizimkine benzer ezgileri tulum eşliğinde dinleyebilmiş olmak da evde hissettirdi. Kuzey Makedonya , çok teşekkürler !

The map of Hagji Ahmed Muhiddin Piri, aka Piri Reis

The map on the wall was drawn and signed by Turkish cartographer Hagji Ahmed Muhiddin Piri , aka Piri Reis, and is dated to 1513 AD. Reis was an admiral in the Turkish navy, an experienced sailor, and a cartographer. The Piri Reis map is in the Library of the Topkapı Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, but is not usually on display to the public.

On the photo we are planning our road map,we are arranging timeline, project plans. We think it is a nice coincidence.

The Bosphorus: FUSION of two continents

Bosforo.jpg

We visited Istanbul at the end of our stay during the Erasmus + Fusion Project thanks to the organization done by Hacer and Ayden, our Turkish partners. The Bosphorus (meaning from the Greek ‘bus’ oxen and ‘fóros’ alley) is also known as the Strait of Istanbul. We invite you to be curious and learn about the etimology of this name. We enjoyed the feeling of being in the middle of two continents Asia and Europe. This strait connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara and, by extension via the Dardanelles, the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. We could sea the magnificent buildings: palaces, mosques and the Galata Tower during our boat tour. Very impressive!

 IMG-20200202-WA0012.jpg

¡Impresionante!

STAMP SEAL/BAKED CLAY (ANADOLU MEDENIYETLERY MÜZESI IN ANKARA)

Out of the different objects we could see in this incredible museum I loved this clay seal because it reminds me of the Canarian native people or “guanches” who used something very similar called “pintaderas” to identify the silo (grain storage) where they kept their harvest. So far so close…we share so many things but we are not conscious about it. A place as amazing as this museum and its content made me think about it.

Facing the future

On 28th of January a group of students of 2nd general lyceum of Ierapetra, visited the University of Crete and specifically the department of Computer Science & Engineering . The students informed about the results of various new researches of the University and the Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, they took part in an operation of a sheep through VR glasses, and show how clever houses will be in the future. Finally, they played interactive games.

A night in the Ankara Devlet Opera Ve Balesi

Ankara Opera is the largest of the three opera and ballet venues in Ankara. The building dates from 1933. It was later converted into an opera house and started serving this purpose on April 2, 1948. We visited the place to see Harem, a Turkish ballet which blends classical ballet with Ottoman music. It has become the longest-running ballet show in Turkey, being performed for 20 years now.
