Our school is situated in the western suburban area of Ankara, capital city of Turkey.
Ankara is the second biggest city of Turkey with more than 5 million population.Our school is a general high school which prepares students for higher learning institutions. The purpose of our school is to give students a minimum common culture, to identify individual and social problems, to search for solutions, to raise awareness in order to contribute to the socio-economic and cultural development of the country and to prepare the students for higher education, with their interests and skills.
Our school provides free educational opportunities and the students are placed according to the results of an examination. Our school has 994 students in 32 classrooms, 72 teachers. Our mission is to develop young individuals with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding compassion for others and to improve the skills needed for success in the future and establish values that will allow students to act with thoughtfulness and humanity.Our vision is to create a nationally and internationally known high school that produces major gains in student achievement both academically and socially. Our school gives importance international collaboration in the multinational integration procession the European Union. We, as a leader of this project ,the coordinator school and its project team has the experience and power on designing,writing,implementing,disseminating of Erasmus Projects.We are also eTwinning School.Using ICT effectively in the school environment is a need our school.Teacher training activities are not at the desired level.The project will provide for teachers to explore a range of e-learning methods,innovations and technologies to better prepare their students for future.
The skills of the teachers involved in the project will evolve, they will be able to think and cooperate in a modern way, transfer their knowledge to the other members of the teaching staff. New effective teaching methods and digital knowledge are handed over to colleagues to motivate students as effectively as possible. Thus, not only students but also teachers can be motivated for renewal and international cooperation. This project makes it possible to adopt and apply other innovative alternative methods in education.
We as Turkish team which consists of 2 English teachers are open new and innovative teaching methods.We also have willing and supportive teachers dedicated to working towards our project purposes. Our school administration is congenial and encouraging which will help lead us to effective running of our project.
